Purpose
This policy says what Betania International University collects through betauni.com, why, who it is shared with and what the person it belongs to can ask for.
Scope
It covers this website and the campaign pages the university publishes. It does not cover Canvas, where classes run, or a student's academic record once admitted: those are governed by the catalog's student records policy.
What the university collects
The contact form asks for a program of interest, a first and last name, an email address, a WhatsApp number with its country code, a country of residence and, for the United States, a state. Nothing else on the site asks for personal information.
The site also reads the country the visit comes from, to preselect the country code, and records which pages were visited and how they were used, as an anonymous recording in which everything typed is hidden. The measurement only runs if the visitor accepts it in the cookie banner.
Why
- To answer the enquiry and send information about the program asked about.
- To contact the person by WhatsApp, email or telephone about their admission.
- To understand how the site is used and to fix its errors.
The university does not sell personal information, and does not use it for advertising by third parties.
Who else sees it
Inside the university, the admissions team. Outside it, only the services that make the site work, each for its own part and bound to use it for nothing else: Cloudflare, which serves the site and checks that a submission is not a robot; Convex, where the enquiry is stored; PostHog, which measures use; and Sentry, which reports errors. These services keep the information in the United States.
How long
An enquiry is kept while it is useful for admissions and for as long as the law requires. Anyone can ask for theirs to be deleted before that, and it is deleted.
What the person can ask for
To know what the university holds about them, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to withdraw a permission already given. It is asked for at info@betauni.com, and the university answers.
