What the site stores in the browser, what for, and how to change it.

What a cookie is

A small note the site leaves in the browser so it can recognise it on the next page. Some are needed for the site to work; others only serve to measure how it is used.

The ones the site needs

These are always set, because without them the site does not work. They store no name and no address.

  • The language chosen, so a page is not served in the other one on the next visit.
  • The answer to this banner, so it is not asked again.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that whoever sends the form is a person.

The ones that are asked for

Measurement only runs if it is accepted in the banner. With PostHog it counts visits, which pages are read and, as an anonymous recording of the visit, how the site is used: what is typed into a field is hidden from that recording and never leaves the browser. With Sentry it reports the site's errors. Rejecting it changes nothing about the site: everything works the same.

How to change the answer

The “Cookie preferences” link in the footer reopens the choice at any time, and the new answer takes effect at once. A browser can also delete them or refuse them on its own, from its settings.
