Betania International University will combine expertise from the educational and professional arena in a university environment. The University’s main goal is to develop the business and healthcare communities with graduates who exhibit skills and the ability to make positive contributions to the workplace.

Betania International University will develop an educational curriculum with an emphasis on the development of critical thinking and conceptual skills. The rigor and scholarly emphasis is coupled with the expertise and knowledge of the professional community. The central focus will be the relationship between academic learning and real-life practical skills and strategies. The University’s programs will be designed to respond to the needs of today’s world with the flexibility to adjust to these needs as they continue to evolve.

The Story of Betania International University

Betania International University was founded by Dr. Luis Fernando Fabregas Lopez, a physician, entrepreneur, and visionary leader with an extensive track record in the healthcare and business sectors in Colombia. His passion for education is deeply rooted in his family heritage. As the son of a distinguished educator who has dedicated more than 50 years to leading educational institutions and shaping generations of students, he grew up in an environment where knowledge, discipline, excellence, and service to the community were fundamental values.

Throughout his professional career, Dr. Fabregas successfully led organizations and business ventures, gaining firsthand insight into a growing global need: preparing professionals to thrive in an increasingly dynamic, technology-driven, and interconnected world.

Six years ago, after relocating to the United States with his family, he began turning a long-held vision into reality: creating a university that would offer flexible, innovative, and career-focused education aligned with the evolving needs of today's workforce. His goal was to build an institution that would not only deliver knowledge but also empower students to lead, innovate, and create meaningful impact within their organizations and communities.

With this vision, Betania International University was established as an institution committed to academic excellence, technological innovation, and the development of professionals with a global perspective. From its inception, the university was designed to integrate modern learning methodologies, advanced educational technologies, and academic programs focused on developing practical, strategic, and leadership competencies.

DEAC Accreditation Status

Betania International University is currently seeking initial accreditation from the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a recognized accrediting agency. For more information visit www.deac.org.

Policies

Cancellation Policy

Students have a minimum of five (5) calendar days after signing their Enrollment Agreement to cancel enrollment and receive a full refund of any monies paid. Cancellation must be submitted in writing to the Registration Department.

Refund Policy

Week 1 (through drop/add period): 100% tuition refunded, except $100 registration fee. Week 2: 75% refunded. Week 3: 50% refunded. Week 4: 25% refunded. Week 5+: 0% refunded; $75 withdrawal fee applies. Cancellation must be in writing. Refunds issued within 30 days. If the university cancels a class, full refund including the $100 fee.

Example: A student enrolled at $450 tuition withdraws at end of Week 2. Refund rate: 75%. Amount refunded: $337.50. Amount retained: $112.50 + $100 registration fee (non-refundable).

Transfer Credit Disclosures

The transferability of credits earned at Betania International University to another institution is at the discretion of the accepting institution. It is the student’s responsibility to confirm whether credits will be accepted before enrolling.
